The total supplier of European cheeses, MAAZ Cheese has aligned its CSR efforts with the ISO 26000 standard. Based on the history of the organization, MAAZ has its own CSR steering committee just so CSR is put into practice on a permanent and expanding basis. It provided auditor Gerard van der Werff with the right evidence to record scores that indicate a leading position in CSR.
The ISO 26000 report had the following conclusion: ‘As a leading independent and innovative service provider within cheese, MAAZ Cheese’s objective is to provide services with the minimum possible impact on people and the environment.
Objectives are set on the basis of core themes in which the CSR policy is implemented. The company demonstrably gives substance to being a good employer and therefore has a good reputation in the region.Through chain collaborations and raw material selection, an active policy is pursued on a more sustainable food chain. Together with their clients they are working on making products and packaging more sustainable. The company performs significantly better than its competition. This is also reflected in a fully explicable award of a higher score for the CSR Quality Mark test’.
